The Russian army accidentally shot down its own aircraft during an attack on Ukraine! They crashed onto Russian bases and exploded. According to our sources and confirmed drone footage, the Russians sent a large group of Su-34 and Su-35 aircraft into the air to cover cruise missile strikes. But due to chaos in the air, poor coordination, and likely “friendly fire” from their own air defense systems, several Russian planes were shot down by their own missiles. One Su-34 took a direct hit from a missile—likely from an S-400 or Pantsir system—launched from Russian territory. A second aircraft caught fire mid-air after being struck by its own air-to-air missile. A third aircraft, attempting to evade, collided with another Russian plane. In total, according to preliminary data, the Russians lost at least 4–5 combat aircraft in a single night due to “friendly fire,” not counting those that may have been damaged. Ukrainian military personnel who observed this in real time could hardly believe their eyes. One air defense pilot said in a closed chat: “We didn’t even have time to do anything. They started shooting each other down themselves. We just stood and watched.” Russian propaganda is already trying to explain this as “technical malfunctions” and “operator errors.” But even their own Z-channels are erupting in outrage: “How incompetent do you have to be to shoot down your own planes during an attack?” This is not the first case of “friendly fire” in Russia’s forces, but nothing on this scale has happened before.
