I’ve never had an abortion—I’ve always used birth control and IUDs which are great at, you know, preventing pregnancy.
BUT
I’ve personally known 5 women who had an abortion. (I’m sure I’ve known many more but these five either admitted it to me or I found out from a mutual friend.)
Here’s the interesting thing: all of them were staunchly pro-life before the abortion, and after the abortion 4 of them went back to being pro-life. One of them became an anti-abortion activist to try and stop other women from exercising the freedom she’d had.
The point is that people love to have self-righteous opinions except when it’s their own lives and suddenly it seems crazy to ruin your life for the equivalent of a non-sentient shrimp.
