the thing with the state smp people is that most of them were "nobodys" like half a year ago, suddenly everyone knew who they were and thats like... not bad, but they got pushed into the content creation space out of nowhere and most of them still didnt realize [+]

the issue with content creators making insensitive jokes isn’t necessarily the joke itself people who make content are afforded a platform by the people who follow them - using that platform to potentially insult the very people giving it to you is the issue in a lot of spaces, these kinds of jokes aren’t uncommon to hear in private, but if you’ve been given a platform by thousands of people, it’s absolutely fair criticism when you use that platform to insult a portion of them

@sincerelyinvain the jokes that they make indicate who they actually are behind the screen, I have a feeling they don’t understand the gravity of having even the slightest amount of influence online
