adding on to this, experience is really what makes it so hard to develop. you simply can’t develop taste overnight, rather your taste is a summarization of everything you’ve experienced

what does it mean to have "good [music/art] Taste"? it feels like Taste ≈ a value system, and saying someone has a better value system is interesting if people have preference orderings over other Tastes, what do they look like other than "complexity" / "similarity to my own"?
