@ACBUTA @ony8590 I think that's why I like MechWarrior/BattleTech so much, personally. Feels very "real" and "grounded" and you can see scenarios where it could be a possible, if unlikely, future. Even down to the political maneuvering in the story, it has a ton of thought put into the minutia.

@crusade_enjoyer If you don't need stealth for highly contested airspace (which we have the B-2 for), the Bone's objectively the most capable bomber we've ever built by an enormous margin. Also able to respond to quick changes on the ground with lightning speed. Absolutely invaluable IMO.

The B-1 weighs 470,000 lbs. It can carry 75,000 lbs of ordnance. It can hit Mach 1.25. For reference, the WW2-era B-17 weighed 65,000 lbs total.

@planefag I've always been of the opinion that battleships will make a comeback the moment someone makes a viable boat-mounted railgun. Estimated range is about 300 nm, which puts 80% of the world population within its effective range, and no point defense is going to shoot down a slug.
