Election Night was my last day at @MissiNewsRoom. I’m proud of many stories I worked on there and feel lucky for the trust placed in me and pals I’ve made the past 5 years I loved covering #Mississauga politics and took it seriously. Exhibit A: My beard was mostly red in 2019.

Well, the #Metroland layoffs have caught up with me. I'm sad to say my last official day is Dec. 31. I'm so grateful for the opportunities and experiences that community journalism has given me, but I'm also heartbroken over the state of this industry.

A very sad day for journalism. I worked with some incredible journalists at Metroland who reported vital stories from their local communities. This isn't just a loss for local news, but journalism at large.

My heart is breaking for all my former colleagues... a huge blow to local journalism. I spent three years at Metroland with some amazing reporters..this is so fucked
