@PickleOlympics @GMGoBetting If that's the attitude you want to take, then don't be part of the group that whines about the low birth rate. Either we as a society agree on helping families have children or you get none.

@GMGoBetting Yeah, was it shocking that you're responsible for planning to support yourself?

When my wife and I had our daughter, we were both public school teachers. We had insurance through the school system. We paid about $400 a month for insurance. Our deductible was $14,000. My wife got 0 maternity leave - had to use all her accumulated sick days, then take unpaid time off. These are complaints because we knew our situation and chose to have a child. When middle class families pay for insurance and it still costs over $10,000 PLUS zero maternity/paternity leave - i think it’s fair to assume why “we’ve stopped making babies.”
