I'm genuinely concerned that anti-AI sentiment, no matter how legitimate or misguided some of it may be, will seriously derail human progress. Artists against AI are one thing. The protests against data centers don't really make sense in light of objective reality. The safety Doomers lost in 2025 hard. But the one thing that will unite people against AI is job loss. I'm afraid that the pro-business, conservative crowd is shooting themselves in the foot by continually claiming that AI and robots will create more jobs. It will not create more jobs. It is not creating more jobs. We need to all have candid, frank conversations about this. We need to stop the delusional takes and be honest about what's coming. Otherwise, the pro-tech, pro-business crowd is gonna be surprised when the masses revolt en masse.
