Today’s discussions underscored both the progress made and the challenges ahead. While many countries have strengthened protections against violence and advanced legal rights, women globally still hold only 64 per cent of the legal rights enjoyed by men. Speakers called for renewed political will and practical action to close the remaining gaps. From access to justice and economic opportunity to leadership and participation in shaping an inclusive digital future. As the global community gathers in New York for #CSW70, the focus now turns to translating commitments into action and accelerating progress for women and girls everywhere. The UN @globalcompact looks forward to actively contributing to these discussions and engaging with partners throughout the two weeks ahead.

This morning at the United Nations, the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (#CSW70) officially began, bringing together Governments, businesses, civil society and advocates from around the world to advance #GenderEquality.
