Former Manchester United and Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero has announced his retirement from football. After beginning his professional career with Racing Club, Romero moved to Europe where he enjoyed spells with AZ Alkmaar and Sampdoria before joining Manchester United. During his time at Old Trafford, he played an important role as the Red Devils lifted the UEFA Europa League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and FA Community Shield. 🏆 On the international stage, Romero became Argentina’s most capped goalkeeper, representing La Albiceleste 96 times. He featured at both the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups, where his penalty shootout heroics helped send Argentina to the final in Brazil.
