@ingersoll_bob It is. I’ve been taking hiatus from writing because I started a new job that took about 8 months of intensive traveling and training. It’s finally done, and I hope to pick it up again before long. I definitely want to finish that series for sure.
English

@ingersoll_bob Thank you. Xitter hasn’t impressed me of late. But mostly I’m starting a new job that’s kept my social media presence to a minimum. I’m still here though, I promise 😁 And I’ll likely have a lot to say once I get going again
English

@adanie5 These “last days” sure have been going on for a loooong time
English

@RogueArtemis Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one. It was like the internet before there was an internet
English

@BradTheAuthor @adanie5 “One function of a wife” is one of the cringier things I’ve seen in a sentence now
English

@godlessindixie @adanie5 Thats one function of a wife, assuming they want kids. Don't see how thats wrong. Im an evangelical and know plenty of evangelical women who work, and plenty who choose not too.
English

Having a lot of kids doesnt mean you're IBLP. Some people just want a lot of kids.
April Daniel Jones@adanie5
@mhairiforrest Plus, I now attend a megachurch and there are at least three families here that are part of the Quiverfull movement. There may be more but they’re not as obvious because they only have 5 or 6 kids and not 14-15.
English

@adanie5 @BradTheAuthor I still say that evangelicalism is really fundamentalism with an updated haircut. Peel back the marketing layer and the theology is still wrapped around patriarchy. They still believe a woman is for making and raising babies
English

@BradTheAuthor True, but three of the families I know for sure are. Like I said, I’m not sure about the others. I don’t know them as well.

@freethink901 Update: Having technical difficulties with the site. Hoping to get them resolved before too late in the day. Either way, it looks like I’ve got some catching up to do 😬
English

Wonder if @godlessindixie has a working link or copy of his essay "Greatest Story Never Told" maybe a repost for Easter?
English

@freethink901 Funny you should mention it. I was just thinking about doing that
English

@JoelRenkema @sewistwrites Follow-up: Historians can find no evidence that Hebrews were ever in Egypt at all. They appear to have emerged gradually in Canaan around the time the Bible stories claim they invaded it
English

@sewistwrites The pyramids of Giza were roughly 1,000 years old when Abraham visited Egypt.
English

@godless_mom My favorite is when they name a specific sin because they’re only telling on themselves. What they don’t understand is that when we screw up, we don’t get to pretend it’s erased by magic.
English

@sarahmccammon I’ve been on the other end of that situation, so I’m curious to hear what works. My gut says if exhaustion is the root cause, then more rest has to come in somewhere in the day/week before it gets any easier. I’m sure if you explain that to the children they’ll understand 😆
English

@GodlessLiz I wrote a whole article about this with a list of the top 25 lies we were told, but Patheos deleted it. I should go resurrect that one for OnlySky. It'll be interesting to see if I still agree with all of it 😆
English

@is4Christianity @SecularOutpost And yet the Bible portrays a deity who constantly intervenes. So I fail to see the value in a Christian positing deism as a workaround.
English

@SecularOutpost “It by no means follows from Supernaturalism that Miracles of any sort do in fact occur. God (the primary thing) may never in fact interfere with the natural system He has created.”
C.S.Lewis
English

@funnyhorse @GodlessLiz Speak for yourself. Those were delicious 😁
English

@johnmaddox @TheoreticalBS why are you so obsessed with atheists? why does our doubt bother you so much?
English

This atheist (@TheoreticalBS ) says I'm a tool for asking why I should take him seriously...but based on HIS PROFILE, it seems pretty reasonable to wonder if he's a troll/parody.
But in his mind, this makes ME the troll.
And Twitter atheists wonder why I call them out. 🙄🙄
