Gregory ”Pops” Dunson (@gpopsd ) led his Alexander HS team to a Georgia 5A State Championship last night, scoring a game-high 25 points, including a half-court 3rd quarter buzzer beater that propelled them to a 4th-quarter surge. Oh, Alexander’s opponent featured the two sons of former NBA star Jarvis Hayes. Two nationally ranked underclassmen. Basketball in Georgia is different. Congrats to Pops!

Good to see @CSUMBasketball commit Pops Dunson (@gpopsd) back on the floor with @ALX_Bball. He was asolif throughout but really got going later in the game with his potent scoring ability. He helped create the separation needed to get the W in the end.

Grayson New Year’s Classic FINAL: @ALX_Bball – 66 Mceachern – 57 Alexander went on a run early in the 4th to take the lead in a game where Mceachern led for 3 quarters. Torian Greene looked like the best player on the floor, efficient, scored it from all three levels, and he gets after on the defensive end. Top available guard in the 2026 class. Pops Dunson goes for 28, he did a great job of getting downhill and using his strong frame to finish through contact, He knocked down the mid range consistently, overall he scores it effortlessly and with no wasted movements. Emmanuel Alofe went for 17, his two way ability was on display. on the offensive end he scored it around the basket with touch, some nasty dunks, and stepped out to the three. On the defensive end he was active on the glass and changed numerous shots.
