This is not a Gio Reyna hate tweet. I am happy he is on the roster because he has always given us something good wearing the shirt. It is to call out the mass hypocrisy among USMNT fans who will pick and choose selection criteria for if and when it suits their narrative.

Cristian Roldan has put in nothing but solid performances under Pochettino. But does he get the same treatment as Gio? Absolutely not. Quite the opposite. Instead, people love to advocate for his exclusion solely down to the fact he plays in MLS.

All I will say is if you’re arguing for Gio Reyna’s inclusion in the #USMNT based on the idea that “he’s always been good for the national team,” then you’d better apply that same logic consistently across the board.
