As far as I know, all your artworks done for an existing IP is considered derivative work. And I think there's an unspoken consent when you upload and post art in their official hashtag, they're allowed to use it for thumbnails? This is for JP/EN so cmiiw!

I don't even go here tapi isn't it that if you already post in the thumbnail fanart tag it would be expected for ur fanart to be used as a thumbnail?? kalo emang gak consent ya jangan ditaro ditag thumbnail. I think as long as they credit/rt the original artist i see no harm
