I will be Keynote Speaker at the Commoners Club Sierra Leone Dinner on Saturday! To me, when I walked on the Fourah Bay College Campus, my plans were clear - experience everything: Study hard and excel, enjoy campus life to the fullest, be part of the politics, party hard, build the part that comes from learning from other students and take advantage of the broad irreplaceable network that all these bring together. It worked! I joined COMMONERS CLUB first because I liked its ethos and philosophy “to be Common is to feel among” in a time when FALSE LIFE had engulfed the FBC society. It was also the ONLY CLUB that drew membership from almost all university campuses across the country and they take themselves as ONE - a Commoner is a commoner at Njala, Milton Margai, UNIMTECH, IPAM, etc and transforms PLEBIANS into COMMONERS. It is easily the one club with the biggest army of male and female ELITES in this country EVER, in their thousands, after nearly 3 decades of existence and mass production across all campuses - they just need to be awakened! I then joined the Gentlemen’s Quarterly (GQ) where gentlemen are forged from SAVAGES on a campus that Savagery was everywhere into GENTLEMEN and TOMBOYS TO INTO LADIES. They also had beautiful Ladies (LQ) to go with it - just what I liked.😉 Then I joined the famous AURADICALS CLUB - an absolute ELITE FRATERNITY focusing on academic and social capital and network. There,boys are turned into men to face the socio-politcal rigours of Sierra Leone and beyond. I also joined the political campings and fraternities that served as a training ground for politics after University. I occupied various leadership position including FBC SU Cabinet, elected President of Solomon Caulker Hall and Chief Justice of the National Union of Sierra Leone Students (NUSS) All these clubs have a unique value in my life. As a FOUNDING MEMBER OF COMMONERS CLUB SIERRRA LEONE, Saturday is going to be SPECIAL and I will be there to “POUR” as we used to say. Come Ye Commoners and be AWAKENED - for the time has COME!
