@enoughofthis4 @do4luv_ Pressure does help sometimes for me too but when it’s natural and unavoidable. It often takes its toll afterwards though so idk if it really helps but maybe 🤷‍♀️ #OCDTalkHour

@enoughofthis4 @do4luv_ This sounds like a good idea and I’d be interested in how you get on. I find self-guided exposures more helpful than ERP itself. I ask myself if I feel able to test out changing something without pressure but can see your way might be helpful! #OCDTalkHour

@enoughofthis4 @do4luv_ I might be a bit weird in this sense as I feel like there’s a difference between my actual instincts and OCD ones. I can usually tell when it’s my actual instincts but possible OCD ones are often hazy! #OCDTalkHour

@harmlesslife @do4luv_ This is a really interesting question. I feel like one of the hallmarks of OCD is I can’t trust my gut instincts—like they’ll send me into OCD overdrive if I let them. It would be great to hear if anyone else has had a different experience. #OCDTalkHour.

@do4luv_ @enoughofthis4 I don’t talk about it much publicly as lots of people find ERP helpful. Hard to summarise but I think hierarchical ERP alone is ineffective long-term. It’s sort of compulsive in itself and quite cruel. Exposures are important but I don’t like ERP in its usual format #OCDTalkHour

@harmlesslife @Sam198247235291 Sorry you’re not feeling well. A lot of my problem is lack of sleep, plus some weird physical symptoms which I’ll see a doctor about next week. I’ve maxed out the meds I can take without getting nasty side effects, so distraction is the name of the game. #OCDTalkHour
