Received and unboxed my @hempydotscience hoodie today. Really excited about finally trying this product coming out of @valley_dao. Hempy promises to turn hemp into premium, breathable, lifelong clothing with their HEMPKNIT™ biotech. Enzyme-softened fibers that give hemp a cotton-like feel while using far less water and land than cotton.

Just got my $HEMPY hoodie in the mail and I keep picking it up just to feel it. I've been working behind the scenes on this at @valley_dao, so receiving it as an actual physical product hit differently than I expected. There's something about holding the thing you've been helping build that makes it real. For anyone who hasn't heard of @hempydotscience, it's a biotech project working to make hemp a genuinely viable textile. Not in a "natural is better" marketing kind of way, but through real enzyme-based science that makes the fiber softer, more durable, and a legitimate alternative to the synthetic materials that are quietly polluting everything. The fashion industry is one of the dirtiest industries on the planet. Microplastics from synthetic clothing are in our water, our food, our bodies. Most of what we wear is designed to fall apart quickly and be replaced. $HEMPY is trying to fix the material itself, not just put a green label on the same old problem. What gets me most is the model behind it. ValleyDAO is part of the DeSci movement, and our community actually funds and supports scientific research and then get to see it become something real.
