Making LLMs run efficiently can feel scary, but scaling isn’t magic, it’s math! We wanted to demystify the “systems view” of LLMs and wrote a little textbook called “How To Scale Your Model” which we’re releasing today. 1/n

Insights: (1) lots of suno/udio getting streams on Spotify without explicit acknowledgement (built his own suno detector) (2) side-by-side comparison of loop libraries and likelihood to get claimed if you use them (3) payment per stream numbers for all major services with... Peloton coming out on top? (A bit unfair to compare rate per stream for a closed ecosystem to one with more public reach, but still interesting to see the numbers break down, Amazon actually comes off pretty well in terms of artist return)

I’m so proud of the updated version of #MusicFXDJ we developed in collaboration with @jacobcollier, available today at labs.google/musicfx. Over the past year I’ve spent countless hours experimenting with our real-time music models, and it feels like I’ve learned to play a new type of instrument, in the spirit of what we started @GoogleMagenta to achieve. It was validating to hear Jacob echo these sentiments the first time he played an early version. With his help, we’ve added new controls, raising the ceiling on what players are able to do with it. Now anyone can experiment with this new instrument and share what they create with the world. I'll start things off with my most recent jam session...
