@penaltyk1ll @chxrrynightmxre @benoistsabrqms I think they value getting a team set in stone in a main market like Chicago. Sure the smaller arena is the “home” but I wouldn’t be surprised if the had a few higher profile games at the united center, the arena they’re playing in is owned by the Blackhawks after all.

@hogthought @chxrrynightmxre @benoistsabrqms I don't think they'd commit to that if it's only a temporary arrangement knowing they can draw larger crowds. they're better off shopping around the idea while prioritizing other markets where they can make a larger splash before locking down a more fitting venue in the future

@penaltyk1ll @chxrrynightmxre @benoistsabrqms Only options are the allstate arena, which the wolves probably won’t want to share and the arena in Hoffman estates (hour out of the city). The smaller arena was the smart option. It gets them in the city itself ASAP with low overhead costs and allows the time to find a new arena

@chxrrynightmxre @benoistsabrqms that's what I mean tho, to say this would be their primary venue with all those options (even if they were to split the games between venues like teams have in the past) doesn't make any sense for the league so I don't really trust the guy based on a vague piece of alleged info

@Tylert074 Yeah numbers wise you’d think that would be my main focus with these tweets as opposed to the forward group, but it’s not a bad little core to build on + any extra forward prospects they want to move (Hayes, Misiak, Ludwinski, Savoie) could be used to bring back D depth

@JustFightsss @hailey_salvian @jordynbtw Yeah, could just be temporary too. A way to get the team into the Chicago market ASAP and worry about a larger arena down the road. They know they’ll turn a profit in a 2k seat arena w/lower overhead

In regards to speculation about the PWHL expanding to Chicago, the league has not confirmed that any expansion decision has been made at this time. I’d also be shocked if they considered playing in a 2,000 seat arena.

So w/the Icehogs extending Jamie Engelbert, they now have: Engelbert, Boisvert, Seney, Toninato, Savoie, Van Acker, Spellacy, Mustard(?), Boucher, Mylymok, Hayes, Ludwinski and Misiak in line to return/join RFD next season. Possibly Kevin Lombardi as well.

@Tylert074 Yeah that’s big too good point, if this was 10-15 years ago and the AHL was still vet-oriented I’d almost say he’s entering NHL 2-way contract territory with his play this year
