I only applied for the @homebaseprogram because one of the strongest warriors I know told me the program saved his life. I was ashamed that I might need help. I’ve lost too many friends and had too many close calls myself, and I had no idea the affect that had on me. As I step out from this journey, I am no longer ashamed. I am beyond grateful. I am grateful for family, friends, and so many others who encouraged me to take this journey. In the truest way, it’s only just begun but most times the first step is the hardest one to take. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, don’t be ashamed if you think you need help, just take the first step. I guarantee you’ll be glad you did.
