When you meet a Port Harcourt person that was born in the 80's & 90's, dem dey avoid trouble at all cost. It is because we lived through periods of intense violence. From the streets, to campuses, deep into the dark creeks, & mangroves. Life in Rivers State was dangerous. You fit wake up for house commot, make u no come back again, either u kpai by stray bullet or men fall you. I remember one day I go see my class mate for Marine base, we played Play station until it was late, so I decided to spend the night there (wrongest decision I ever made). At around 11:15 p.m, approximately fifty well armed members of Asari’s NDPVF arrived by speedboats at Marine Base, a waterfront area in Port Harcourt where several members of Ateke Tom’s NDV resided. At about 11.30 p.m, they started chanting Asawana, we started hearing gunshots coming from the River and from the road. The gunshots lasted until 5a.m. I didn’t know what was happening, there were gunshots everywhere. If you peep through the window it was like stars, so we just lay flat in the house and prayed. That was all we could do. The security forces didn’t arrive at the scene until 6a.m. and appeared unable to contain the violence or match the firepower of the NDPVF. The police ran away leaving residents defenseless. The fighting led to the deaths of over 13persons, as well as the destruction of several stores and cars. That was the last time I ever stepped my foot in Marine base. This event happened over 20years ago, till today if you invite me to Marine base or Abuloma for business, you can never see me there. Thank God for the uneasy calm we are experiencing now in Port Harcourt.

@KE_MrBlack No, it's not. If she only left bcs I was struggling, and I'm no longer struggling then there's no longer a reason we should be separated. If I struggle again, clearly she'll leave again- so it's motivation to always be ahead of struggle. It's basically all about perspective

A woman leaving you because of struggles is understandable there’s no glory in suffering together. But trying to win that same woman back after you become financially stable is mental illness

If you want to press those touts and cultist money, press the one you can maintain. If it's drink you want to buy, let it be drink. If you see you can't continue, don't start at all

1. If you live in Port Harcourt or you come for a visit, if anyone calls you pilot, do not answer them or even look at them. You didn’t go to aviation school. 2. Be kind to the egbon adugbo in your area. Show love when you have spare cash. One day, “free am, na my guy” from one of them will save you. 3. Any business you do with people, collect your percentage and give them their full money. Don’t let greed ruin your life. 4. Give dispatch riders the address of the nearest junction or the house before yours. Come outside and get it from them. I hope you never find out why I said this. 5. Be cordial with at least one neighbor in your compound. Don’t ever be on bad terms with your neighbors. In emergencies, they are your first saviors. 6. Once in a while, show love to your gateman or estate security. E get why. 7. Never post your location online until you have left there. 8. Before you rent an apartment, study the kind of people who live in the compound or estate. If you see people of questionable character, don’t rent a house there. 9. You must never sleep with your neighbor. No matter how good-looking they are, don’t cross that line. 10. Your house is your sanctuary; not everyone should know where you live. Some friendships/link-ups should end in the gym, church, school, workplace, hotel, etc. 11. If you are walking in a gathering of strangers, bone your face. It is dangerous not to look dangerous. 12. If God blesses your pocket and you notice you are the only rich person in your hood, it is time to pack out.
