Nick Wright says he’s got Kobe Bryant as the 8th greatest player ever, and he was never the best player in the world: “I know people get mad at that take, but here’s the problem and the reason Kobe was never the best player in the world. Because once Kobe got great, call it 99, he wasn’t great yet, but I’ll give him 99 once you started seeing flashes. From 99 until 2002, Shaquille O’Neal was the best player in the world. And then from 2003 until 2007, Tim Duncan was the best player in the world. You know how I know Tim Duncan was the best player in the world at that time? Because he won three championships in five years. He won two MVPs. He was the best player. He was the best player until that 48 special by LeBron in 2007. LeBron was the best player in the world from that moment until 2018. So it was Shaq, it was Duncan, it was then Bron. At no point was Kobe the best player in the world.” (Via @WhatsWrightShow)

@AshNicoleMoss They've won one title. One.

Rich Paul on why the media doesn’t criticize Nikola Jokic like they do LeBron: “The reason you don’t hear a lot of conversation about Jokic, is because I don’t believe people are happy to see Jokic lose. When LeBron loses, people are happy to see him lose. Especially his peers. Guys that played in the league who have platforms today, for different reasons, it’s extra. They are happy to see him lose.” (Via Game Over)

The 2021 suns are better than any team Jokic beat to get that championship

I (admittedly) care about lists more than most, and I get irrationally upset at how many folks casually throw around “Top 10 All Time” and use it to refer to ~15 players. So, inspired by Jokic, I made this. A nice tiered list of 22 NBA legends, and where each is in that debate.

NEW: Youth sports is now costing parents as much as $25,000 a year. Private equity and corporations are turning a childhood pastime into something only the wealthy can afford. Youth sports has become a $40 billion industry, and the steep costs are crushing American families.

Bruce Bowen does not have LeBron James in his top-5 NBA players of all-time 😱 "He left Cleveland and got a championship... MJ didn't leave." - Michael Jordan - Kobe Bryant - Tim Duncan - Bill Russell - Magic Johnson @Bowen12 | @MichelleDBeadle | @ChandlerParsons | @TeamLou23

Vlade Divac tells Byron Scott if magic Johnson played in today’s nba he would average 25-30 assists per game and Michael Jordan would average 50 points a game
