@AGoldFan This division got laughed at when it was in existence so it's pretty surreal that now 4/5 of its members won Cups afterwards. Just waiting on you now, Winnipeg...
Need a 30 for 30 on the dominance that is the old NHL Southeast Division...
2018 Washington
2020 Tampa
2021 Tampa
2022 (Tampa lost to Colorado)
2023 (Florida lost to Vegas)
2024 Florida
2025 Florida
2026 Carolina
6 titles, 2 finals, Canes in '19 ECF in 9 yrs #SoundTheSiren
@alexjmingolla This is the worst world cup ever because of... (Looks at notes)... Weather and Game Time not being early enough for us to watch here in Europe at a reasonable time.
“American stadiums are horrible, they shouldn’t host”
“Ok the stadiums are nice but they won’t fill”
“The stadiums filled but the games will suck”
“The games are exciting but American cities are terrible”
“American cities are only fun because they’re rich”
@Press1forClout You also forgot:
“Flyers sucks, wait until they face the Habs”
“Habs had no business being there, They have no chance against a real team like Vegas”
“They have no superstars”
“Rods system doesn’t work in the playoffs”
“They don’t have a great goalie”
“They’re too small”
“Nobody wants to play in Carolina”
“They’re a boring team”
To all the haters, we’re also Stanley cup champions!
#Soundthesiren
The former Southeast Division (which often had 1 average team at best) has now won 6 of the last 9 Stanley Cups
2018 Washington
2020 Tampa Bay
2021 Tampa Bay
2024 Florida
2025 Florida
2026 Carolina
@63boogie@BetMGM It would have been a much closer series, and it probably would have gone 7, and not ended in 5. This Canes team is better than last year's team by a significant amount.
@cms_305@BetMGM Yeah, my bad. But still. They would have beaten that 2023 Panthers team, and this team was built to handle the Panthers style of play. All those close losses, we would have won.
@63boogie@BetMGM Here's the thing, we can actually compare the Canes to the last two Florida Teams. This team would beat the 2024 Panthers because they would flip most if not all those 1 goal games (again, that series was only a sweep in name alone, and not in play).
@BetMGM Everyone here saying carolina should be 1 doesn't know hockey. They face no one and has the easiest path in years. If the Panthers were healthy the canes would be swept. Those are facts
@BetMGM This team was built to flip each of those games around. Therefore, we are better than that 2024 Panthers team at least.
Arguably, I would say we are up there with the 2025 Panthers team. While we may not have beaten them with this team last year, it likely would have gone 7.
@BetMGM This is objectively a dumb take. Why? Because we actually can directly compare the Canes to some of these other teams. This Canes team is way better than they were in 2024, and that team lost to the 2024 Panthers by 1 goal in all 4 games.
@NizzyNHL@expomick But, you could argue that the path was made because they were good. I will give credit that we should have never played the Sens, but we had to play the Flyers (1 v 8), and likely would have played the Canadiens regardless (1 v 5).
@expomick Exactly.
Carolina dominated and deserved to win the cup.
Also, they might have had the easiest path there ever.
Both can be true.
If they want to complain they should complain to Bettman about this format playoff nobody wanted.
There’s already classless hockey fans trying to delegitimize the Carolina Hurricanes’ Stanley Cup win. Miserable idiots. To go 16-3 against anybody…please. It’s impressive. You can only play who’s in front of you.
@capsboybebop Who cares! You know who truly cares about this? The Caniac Nation and all of North Carolina that has waited 20 years to get another championship in the state.
