There was a time in my life when I listened to this talk almost every day. It became my credo; my pattern for a life I longed for. Henry B Eyring became my hero, and with him as a guide, I could become like the Savior. This clip was raw and vulnerable; and it hit me like nothing else had. Becoming as a child is the only way to become like our Redeemer, Jesus Christ! churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-…

You really don’t have any true arguments to stand on when you resort to half-baked insults. You’ve been around long enough to know the “spiritual eyes” thing is a gross misrepresentation of the truth. Martin Harris was taken out of context and you know it. But you want it to be accurate so you hold onto it. I try my best to kind to you despite your constant barbs and innuendo of “heresy”. It seems all you want to do is be unchristian despite claiming you’re the “true Christian.” Are you trying to get me to block you?

New geography model for the Book of Mormon. There are issues with the main two (Meso-America vs Heartland), so I don’t subscribe to either. This one is an interesting alternative that solves several concerns I have with the two previously mentioned. Which model do you like the best? youtu.be/aIeBFtP7XZA

@OurLadysDonor I agree with you, they are reliable witnesses. I believe in the resurrection. But it is a belief non the less. We have no proof!!

@iamjml No the eye witnesses of the resurrection are reliable to me. Unlike the Golden plates "witnesses* they didn't abandon the cause

@OurLadysDonor By your standards eye witness testimony isn’t valid. They could be coerced or even faked, especially after 2 thousand years. No evidence = didn’t happen in your book.

@iamjml No evidence except the 100s of people who saw it and the 2,000 years of Catholic miracles What's the biggest Mormon "miracle" something similar to the miracle of the sun at Fatima

There’s zero enforce for the resurrection. Are you going to say it didn’t happen? And don’t say there’s witness testimony, because we all know people can be deceived. But while we’re on the topic of witnesses, there are more witnesses of the Book of Mormon than the resurrection of Jesus.

@OurLadysDonor You argue like an atheist, demanding evidence before you’ll go back to the belief you once held.

@OurLadysDonor You should know that even bones can deteriorate if left unprotected for long periods of time. Harsh climates can completely destroy human remains in a few years. Soil chemistry and sun exposure wreak havoc even on bones. Absence of evidence isn’t evidence against something.

I like this possibility. The Book of Mormon text always has the Nephites going north from the land of inheritance. This strongly suggests that Lehi's party landed on the south end of a peninsula. Another strong support for this model is the prevalence of the east and west seas. They are constantly there in the text. One last one to mention. When the native population was asked what they call themselves, they responded with "We come from Laman."

Here is a list of the New Testament books widely considered by scholars to have been written after Galatians (dated roughly AD 48–55, often early 50s): • 1 Corinthians • 2 Corinthians • Romans • 2 Thessalonians (if not concurrent/earlier) • Ephesians • Philippians • Colossians • Philemon • 1 Timothy • 2 Timothy • Titus • Hebrews • James (if dated later; debated as possibly earlier) • 1 Peter • 2 Peter • Jude • Mark • Matthew • Luke • Acts • John • 1 John • 2 John • 3 John • Revelation
Latter-Day Saint Dad@RandomLDS

If Galatians 1:8 bans new revelation, Paul broke his own rule every time he wrote another epistle.

Those with preconceived notions about the Book of Mormon still point to anachronisms that exist in the book while ignoring around 75% of historical anachronisms being verified as authentic. Important ones to recognize as “bullseyes” include: • metal plates used by ancient cultures • Semitic language speakers used Egyptian as a modifier • pre-Colombian horses • steel/metallurgy • barley in ancient America • cement for construction The list is much longer. But the question remains: if Joseph smith wrote the Book of Mormon, how did he get so many things right??? How many more “anachronisms” can you list??

@prockwellbg My institute teacher spoke poorly of it 20 years ago. I think he said that because he knew several people that left because of it. So I stayed away from it and had a colored opinion of Dr Bushman until somewhat recently.

Are there actually LDS members who view “Rough Stone Rolling” as critical or apostate content? Or is that just an exmo forum wives tale?

I think this is getting ahead of temple work for deceased transgender individuals reinforcing that their work must be done for the gender at birth, not their identity. I think it's also getting at any activism by Bishops or SP's or even temple workers, allowing a temple recommend and ordinances for a TG individual under their opposite gender. Of course, that would violate multiple other policies already stated.

@RealEvilHRLady @kateiswell As far as I’m aware, baptism is available to someone who experiences gender dysphoria. If they are living the commandments, I believe they can qualify for baptism.
