Annual reminder: you can get tax back on your Union fees. You can claim for 5 tax years and they will give you a cheque for past years and adjust your current tax code. **They claim it'll automatically affect any future tax codes but I had to reapply the next tax year.

Bad mannered people in restaurants. Just sat down for a nice meal, 2 minutes in a group of humans come in baying like rabid banshees . One laughing like a bren gun , all pissed , no self control , kids running amok , coughing Covid , abused the staff . Much prefer the days when people were considerate and smiled at my well behaved life companions and showed some tolerance , patience and kindness .

Taking my daughter for her first maths tutoring session today as she sits her GCSEs this year. Due to lots of time off, she has big gaps. I felt like a bad mum making her go in the summer holidays but then realised that what I’m doing actually makes me a good mum.

@kateowbridge A local village fete is possibly being run for the last time this year as they're not finding new volunteers wanting to get involved... while doing exactly this. They also like calling them newcomers even if they've been living there for years. This sounds so similar!

@primaryteachew I realised recently after checking with my work bestie that my code hadn't been adjusted, so I asked for last year (nice £86 cheque in then post!) and they adjusted the current tax code. It's something considering everything has gotten so expensive.
