The Bank of England says simply that it "will not hesitate to change interest rates as necessary". It's not much, but it may be enough. As former Fed Chair Ben Bernanke once said, "Monetary policy is 98% talk, and 2% action".

@misscrisp It is. Liz definitely has a plan for making inflation worse. But at least Priti Patel is out as Home Secretary. Liz won’t have a gentler immigration policy but at least she’s not Braverman or some of the other candidates.
