For an individual, it is important to realize that his mind must belong to himself. That it is not freely available to anyone to plant a seed and then misuse its energy and passion. Is someone just sharing an idea or he is inserting an idea. Is this idea good or bad, productive or not, really in my interest or not. Is it noble and fair or it is negative and useless. In several countries, people tend to create a larger group based on identity like race, faith or depending on region and other traits. The wish to create a sort of 'one' group, an exactly same community who feel alike and react similarly in a programmed fashion, definitely draws but is artificial. But when sold as 'grand idea', this majoritarian tendency affects individuals who don't realize that under the garb of majoritarianism, their minds are manipulated and they are made to spend their energies in aspects that are needless and may end up hurting them economically and in other ways, within few years. The planners who push for such identity, are well aware that passion over a identity will make people forget other aspects in life and they go all out in a direction and act as they are dictated. But life is long, every five to six years, a new span in one's life and new challenges. A sense of 'power' is drawn when your construct of majority, otherizes the smaller groups. Media manipulation makes people feel that they are going in a right direction. But their passions are often misdirected and except a small group at the top that has a plan, others are just manipulated. It even turns out disastrous for many who were made to believe in an idea due to wave of xenophobic or hateful thought. Media makes them believe that they are doing well and moving in the right direction. But the truth is that the best years of life are lost in fight that was not necessary. When the productive years are over, there is realization that it was all modulation and manipulation. You were made to fight a group within own country and you were shown an image that you were gaining strength, but a decade or two pass, and the situation is completely different, now you are far behind and weak. The group you had demonized, becomes stronger and flourishing. You feel alone, lost and weak. It was a media creation--groups, identities and their conflicts. You were harming yourself all those years but that was manipulation. What went wrong? You were told something and you agreed to sit in a basket with those who had been programmed just like you, all acting like puppets and thrown in a direction and you happily agreed. To stand for a cause that is noble, right or just is important. But to exhaust oneself over an idea that was not worthy of giving your most productive years? I have seen so many able people lose their direction in a momentary decision and then regret for the rest of life, as they fell for a cheap thrill, adrenaline rush and the passion that comes out of bigotry and baser human emotions like hate. [Fact or Fiction*] Uniform law? In a region, Meat 1 is allowed, in another they promote it, in a state Meat 2 allowed, in other any meat is seen with suspicion & even Meat 2 not allowed. Eggs not given to kids in a region. Food is criminalized? X carries meat that's allowed but a false claim is made, first a case is registered & X sent to jail, non-bailable crime, before forensic test and hence, it is duality of law, which makes it more difficult. No wonder, society is affected and overall image of the nation is hurt. Make laws with noble intention, not to harass or make actions like food or choices of lifestyle as criminal. How in one area or an entire town, it is decided that non-veg food is banned here, henceforth. This has happened and no newspaper or media house terms it apartheid. It is sad that this level of farce goes on as politicians keep going from one step to next step election after election. It started decades ago and slowly it reach ridiculous levels. You have to stop or ban or just harass a section? Besides, one group hums and chants in groups at public places and no one bothers. Another prays alone silently in a corner and yet it gets 'reported' and seen as objectionable. This is totally unfair and it has serious repercussions. A society must have certain values. Law has to be fair and proper. It's not that loafers and groups of vigilantes can dictate policies and damage the structure of the country. Every basic aspect of life can't be governed in this way. In one city, you can't sell or buy land without permission, if the buyer and seller belong to other community? What kind of law-and-order is this? Is it any step towards same law or uniform law. The worst is the role of media houses that have played a big role in spreading prejudices. They report each case differently with twisted headlines and clever selection of words, which makes the worst thing palatable and the positive aspects get demonized. Law is there but when burden of proof is on victim and there are two set of laws, one for a section and another non-bailable one for other, when one faces jail terms of years for possessing something that is not even proven but the punishment is almost as if like murder, then how can this even continue. Also, most want to term themselves 'middle class' & get the feel of being, at least, above one class. Concept of 'jhooti shaan' & less empathy for those who are economically weaker than us.

For decades, 5-6 media houses had power to program people's mind about the world they lived in. Issues people ought to support, side that's 'good' & the view not worth attention, all was pre-decided. Media housed told you and decided it for you. The owners of these papers had disproportionate influence on minds. They had their personal interests and presented it as 'in the interests of society'. They even made up stories and as all of them belonged to a micro section, had hoarded wealth, they didn't want the society to know truth. Everything about your country, your state, your region, district and own city that you learnt--all the constructs and images were through them. People made 'sense' of the society around themselves, about the countries around own country & about rest of the world, through these papers. The owners had the power to publish and they told society about things, right or wrong, correct or way off the mark, but people believed. Who am X, who is Y, who is local, who is outsider, how much right A has on this thing, how much less is role of B in this field, everything is obtained through headlines. Otherwise, all should be equal and treated equally, with equal dignity. Certain arguments are pushed in a way that even expressing opposition is seen as bad. They even decided what is good for your and the society in every aspect of life, without any scope left for society to decide. It is not that the era is over. That's the structure of media. You didn't realize when it inserted biases in your mind, deliberately. The power is slightly less but... People spent ages, fighting the wrong battles. Later in the years, learning that they had been tricked at a mass scale.
