I feel bad for Europe. They pushed for aggressive immigration but didn’t get the economic benefits that the US receives from more innovation. There’s just way more mayhem and riots in Europe for no return.

@KentoInami @OwnNothingBFree @_mR_sAt_ « In some cases, the coefficient can be the same for countries with different income distributions but equal levels of income. » Seem to be the case here no?

@infinitepillars @OwnNothingBFree @_mR_sAt_ I think what confuses me is that France GDP per capita is about the same as Japan so absolutel wealth doesn’t seem like a good reason for the difference in all these problems. Also look at Gini coefficient, it’s about the same. #france" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">wisevoter.com/country-rankin…

@OwnNothingBFree @KentoInami @_mR_sAt_ it would be easier for me to get citizenship here since i studied 2 years in French Uni (Their fast-track path to citizenship for skilled workers is good tbh)

@infinitepillars @OwnNothingBFree @_mR_sAt_ Maybe it’s a biased selection group because the people who decide to move to France for benefits are the people who are likely to riot. A solution is to reduce the benefits, but that is politically difficult now.

@OwnNothingBFree @_mR_sAt_ @KentoInami THIS^ this was the point of my initial venting. It’s not manichean, root causes complex and it’s not as easy as blaming it on immigration. + it leads to ppl like me, who have nothing to do with banlieues and identity conflicts, yet have to participate in debate for our future.

@infinitepillars @_mR_sAt_ @KentoInami I do think very little progress has been made in two decades while there's been more attention on fixing the issue than ever before. Why? I have no idea. It's clearly multifactorial and complex. Otherwise the issue wld have been solved a long time ago.

@OwnNothingBFree @_mR_sAt_ @KentoInami never happening in Morocco, even during 2011 protests nobody targeted private property (nor public one as a matter of fact) it’s a european problem that is overlooked (by saying it’s a foreign pb imho)

@infinitepillars @_mR_sAt_ @KentoInami It don't think you're excusing them, nor wld it matter for the argument. I have no idea why anyone wld riot and burn his neighborhood -- in any situation.

@infinitepillars @_mR_sAt_ @KentoInami I'm just not buying the point of political neglect, police discrimination, bad housing etc. Whatever issues there are, these immigrants live better lives in France than their parents' countries imo.

@OwnNothingBFree i personally believe that there should be culturally + socially mixed neighborhoods, more sanctions against job discrimination based on ethnicity and at this stage lower unskilled immigration to handle already existing crisis.

@infinitepillars That last part I agree with. I think immigrant children shd be accepted as full citizens.

@OwnNothingBFree @_mR_sAt_ @KentoInami like even now idc about the protests but i know i’ll be paying the price for it. shit gets frustrating and now i have to participate in a public discourse i dont want to be part of because i know the consequences will be part of my life.

@OwnNothingBFree @_mR_sAt_ @KentoInami I came 3 years ago and already faced job discrimination twice, got annoyed with public debates abt my culture & religion or anything remotely linked to it. I was in one of the best private schools in Morocco, come from a middle class, went to a French uni, among top of my class
