Let me correct the record below and say that I told @neal_katyal yesterday after we left the Court that his was the single best oral argument I have ever heard made before the Supreme Court of the United States. He was masterful!

@innonate I understand and somewhat agree with #2, but there are a bunch of us (as in me) in the middle, as well as some relatively centrist conservative people, who get affected by these ideological decisions -- they just mishandled all of this

@omid 3) agreed on the messiness of policy enforcement. no way to defend being unclear and inconsistent - sounds like bad management! but not a global conspiracy where we need to say "Roth" 10 times to make it all go away.

@omid 1) sorry it's personally sad. I know you're proud of the time you spent there. 2) I have little sympathy for the whole 'skewed to one ideology' thing b/c one ideology uniquely attracts people who are both serially awful AND have large reach (awful libs aren't mainstreamed).
