ℹ️ Update: Network data show at a brief restoration of internet connectivity in #Iran at hour 444 of the country's second-longest blackout, as some users report coming momentarily back online after an apparent filtering system glitch. However, the restoration is not sustained.

Unusual event observed on AS58224 (TCI) in #Iran today. Around 15:00 UTC, it briefly withdrew 74% of announced IPv4 space. After recovering, #Internet traffic from the network skyrocketed. Around 15:30, it briefly withdrew all announced IPv4 space. After recovery, traffic again returned to near-zero levels. Cause is currently unknown. My essay on #DigitalBlackOutIran in Iran. While mainstream media outlets and Iran “analysts” are sidelining the most important issue amidst war, Iranians are grappling with what they describe as equally terrifying as bombs that fall on their heads: the complete digital darkness. Iranians are facing two wars that are being waged against them: one by external forces and one by their own state.

⚠️ Update: #Iran's internet blackout is now entering its 18th day after 408 hours without international connectivity for the general public. Chosen users are granted privileged access, while the remainder are left with a limited domestic intranet under increasingly tight control.
