The commitments, developed through a government-led consultative process, were validated by the Nutrition Technical Forum (NTF) on 17th February before NICC’s approval on 21st February in Nairobi. Key focus areas include strengthening nutrition policies, reducing child wasting to below 4%, addressing diet-related non-communicable diseases, expanding school meal programs, enhancing nutrition-sensitive agriculture, and improving accountability systems. These commitments reaffirm Kenya’s dedication to eliminating malnutrition and achieving global nutrition targets by 2030, recognizing nutrition as vital to national development and economic growth.
