Glengarry Glen Ross stands next to LA Confidential as one of the best casts I’ve ever seen in a film. I challenge anyone reading this tweet to find me a film with a better cast than either of these films. You can’t. It’s impossible. These two movies have insanely talented casts.

@CinemaTweets1 He was supposed to be. He was set up with the Han Solo movie but it bombed. Now he’s making better movies like Weapons/Oppenheimer

@LukeBarnett That show was *SO* good. I consistently thought it was a European show based on the *incredibly* innovative cinematography, plus the deliberate pacing that assumes its audience is actually highly intelligent.

This is the Steve Conrad effect. Consistently making the best, most original, most under watched shows on television. If you haven’t seen Patriot on Amazon, remedy that asap.

Anybody watching “DTF St. Louis” on HBO? Just watched the latest episode. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone tweet about it. It’s so weird and dark and stupid and slow and brilliantly acted and beautifully shot and completely captivating.

@SingleDallasGuy @Daily_MailUS It’s entirely impractical to be absolutely sure on this topic. Imagine a civilization thousands of years more advanced than us - we are a few hundred years removed from thinking the earth was the center of the galaxy. We are babies and any limits we assume are based on that.

@Daily_MailUS It’s entirely impractical and probably impossible for any intelligent beings being able to travel the billions of years it would take to travel to Earth. They’d need to have left even before Earth has existed. They couldn’t come close to even the speed of light.

@mavericksmovies @sansacinema Bad writing is Euron one-shotting a dragon the first time he ever fired the scorpion. Good writing would be 100+ scorpions firing at the same time and 1 of them luckily hitting the dragon.

There is plenty of bad writing in the later GOT seasons but I wouldn’t call this an example of that. Robert Baratheon had minimal claim by blood to the throne— it’s just that most of the actual claimants were dead and vacuum needed to be filled (just like here). Tons of precedent in real world medieval history as well. For example, Martin was inspired by the War of the Roses, which ended with Henry VII ascending to the throne based on the loosest of claims other than everyone else already being dead.

The FT article (and the reports summarizing it) describes the person as "Hegseth's broker" at Morgan Stanley, who contacted BlackRock about a multimillion-dollar investment in the Defense Industrials Active ETF in February. usnews.com It does not explicitly state that the broker was acting on direct instructions from Hegseth, that it was for Hegseth's personal account, or that Hegseth was even aware of the specific inquiry. The reports note the lack of clarity on the broker's discretion or Hegseth's knowledge. usnews.com

Israel has now seized a larger percentage of Lebanon's total landmass than Russia has taken from Ukraine since its 2022 invasion. The latter was immediately met with international uproar and unprecedented multi-sectoral sanctions while the former is barely even mentioned.

@mavericksmovies @DrewSav And what really sucks is that if they wrote that Sansa wanted Jon to die so she could rule the North and hid the Knights of the Vale coming for that reason, it would have worked. But that’s too close to what GRRM would write for D&D to come up with. It was all dazzle no substance

@mavericksmovies @DrewSav People love the Battle of the Bastards, which is a fun battle, but ignore how it happens. Sansa doesn’t tell Jon about a few thousand knights showing up? If they waited 30 minutes, they win easily. Jon charges after they made it clear they can’t do that? It was really dumb.

Thoughts on GoT Season 6. Well there's a lot that works but there are moments where it feels the show is getting bogged down in its own success.
