I would not seek to provoke and alienate Europe if I were Israel. Europe has been very tolerant and supportive of Israel. But if Netanyahu wants to have a fight with Europe and be left with only the Trump government as their friends, this kind of rhetoric can surely achieve it.

APPELLO AL GOVERNO PER PRESERVARE LA “DIGNITÀ” DEL NOSTRO POPOLO SOVRANO Lunedì 13 aprile si rinnoverà per 5 anni il Memorandum sulla cooperazione militare Italia-Israele. È un accordo che il Governo Meloni avrebbe comunque potuto sospendere in qualsiasi momento, ma non lo ha fatto in questi anni, come non ha imposto sanzioni serie al governo Netanyahu. Ma ora, considerato questo passaggio anche simbolico, l'Italia ha il dovere specifico di impedire il rinnovo del Memorandum al fine di rispettare i principi scritti nella nostra Costituzione, nella Carta europea dei diritti fondamentali, nella Carta delle Nazioni Unite. Non è in gioco una questione di colori politici, di affinità ideologica. Il governo israeliano si è macchiato di gravi crimini di guerra e contro l’umanità, compiendo un genocidio a Gaza, promuovendo occupazioni abusive e anche violente dei coloni in Cisgiordania, conducendo molteplici attacchi armati contro altri Stati sovrani che colpiscono indiscriminatamente anche la popolazione e le infrastrutture civili, addirittura attaccando i mezzi dei nostri caschi blu. La condotta criminale di Netanyahu ha prodotto migliaia di morti, conflitti e danni economici enormi a carico anche degli italiani. L'appello è quello di marcare una chiara presa di distanza dalle condotte illegali di Netanyahu e fare così pressione con altri Stati per isolare il governo Netanyahu e indurlo a fermarsi.
