Quick cron reminder on this #TechTipThursday */5 * * * * Runs every 5 minutes. But remember: cron doesn’t care if the previous job finished. Long-running jobs can pile up fast. Sometimes a systemd timer is the better tool. #Linux #Cron #SysAdmin #DevOps

A small productivity trick that helps me: I pick one “must win” task for the day. If everything explodes (which… IT), I still end the day with one meaningful win. Momentum beats perfection. #Productivity #TechLife #Focus

Permissions should almost always be managed through groups, not individual users. usermod -aG wheel eric Groups scale. Individual exceptions create chaos. Design permissions like you design systems. #Linux #SysAdmin #TechTips

Nutzt ihr einen #HomeServer? Wenn ja mit welcher Basis? Proxmox, zimaOS, unraid, Openmediavault? Gerne welche Hardware ihr dafür im Einsatz habt.

I just bought one month of Claude. Building an app as we speak. Some of the tech it will use was suggested so I have no idea. Let's see what happens baby! #DeveloperCommunity

@itguyeric Absolutely. The big shift is that screen readers are finally getting more consistent across everyday workflows — but there’s still a real gap once you hit complex apps, custom widgets, or rushed web UIs. That’s where good semantic structure still makes all the difference.

Linux has solid built-in accessibility features: On GNOME: Settings → Accessibility You’ll find: - Screen reader (Orca) - High contrast mode - Zoom - Large text scaling Accessibility isn’t niche. It’s good engineering. #TechTipThursday #Linux #Accessibility #OpenSource

@itguyeric "Accessibility isn't niche. It's good engineering." — this should be on every developer's wall. Orca has come a long way too. The fact that these tools ship built-in (not as afterthought plugins) makes a huge difference for adoption.

One of the hardest questions in #EnterpriseLinux is what do you need from your distro? Community or commercial support? Security certifications? Compliance guarantees? It depends entirely on your environment. That nuance gets lost in a lot of internet debates. #Linux #SysAdmin

I'm in Pasadena at #SCALE23x with this beauty. Added the epic @COSMIC_desktop logo key for the SUPER key for some extra pizazz 🤓⌨️💎. You want to touch it? Look for the pink (me) and we can connect during the conference!

New keyboard designs from Denver: now in prism black, with corrosion-resistant (doubleshot PBT) shine-though keycaps. We build open source Launch and Launch Heavy keyboards from a milled block of aluminum. Bring hard-to-reach keys like Backspace or Esc right to your Space bar.
