Athletes - when you text a college coach for the first time or even the 2nd. Assume they have no idea who you are. Your name, grad year, club and position should be in those text messages. Treat it like an email.

Should the assistants be coordinating the recruiting, like “hey boss, the girl you REALLY need to watch this weekend is going to be in Boston”?

Email templates and passive recruiting are not going to move the needle for you.

Recruiting for college coaches is a year round process. Athletes should be taking the same approach. Starting your process the end of February in the middle of the recruiting season when college coaches already have their list is not a great start.

Dedication is getting your workout done even though your watch is broken.

Just a quick note to tournament organizers: no need to lay out court numbers like you're a dungeon master from 1983. Numbering the courts in a method not employed by sociopaths will do just fine.
