@AFL The umps were calling the Fremantle game. None of those umps should get another game this season.

Virginia tonight proved one thing: When Democrats can’t win fairly, they change the rules. That’s not democracy. That’s a power grab. Shameful.

@DouthatNYT @austeni I think most people can delineate between an existential battle vs a “ just cause”. Why did US attack? Just ‘cause. ( we felt like it)

@7NewsAdelaide No. They simply get no respect from league ( scheduling) or umpires. Can’t imagine Chris Scott not screaming about bad calls post game. Puts no pressure to get calls right.

Are the Crows the unluckiest team in the league? 🫣 For the fifth time in under three years, the AFL has admitted to an umpiring error in close games - all losses. Ex-coach Scott Camporeale: “We've got the technology now to make sure that those things don't happen but yet we still didn't use it correctly in the Geelong game.” New Two Team Town is streaming on 7plus: tinyurl.com/35tx3rcd

The Crows are refusing to blame a late controversial call for last night’s eight-point loss to the Cats. Matthew Nicks is instead turning the spotlight inward, slamming his side’s sluggish start.

@Adelaide_FC And that’s on the coaching staff. Team has to be ready. Regarding missed call; call out the umpires! Defend your players. You argue for favourable calls for the next game not the one you just lost.

“It was probably the first 10 minutes of the game that was the issue, it was like we were still on the bus.” Nicksy on our slow start, a tense final quarter, and who’s expected to return to face the Dockers. weflyas.one/40SPIGX

@jemelehill The only “free market” Tommy understands is the free stuff the Trump family gives him for his loyalty. And forget about capitalism. He only writes in lower case.

You want to legislate and control the movements of players that you refuse to concede are employees. What happened to that free market and capitalism that you all speak so glowingly about?

The transfer portal has screwed up college sports. My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons and you get 1 transfer. After that, if you transfer again, you sit out a year. This will fix 80% of the issues in NIL today.

The Democrats’ decision to shut down the Department of Homeland Security has caused chaos at our airports, delayed assistance to communities affected by disasters, and forced thousands of frontline employees to work without any guarantee of when they will be paid. The United States is less safe because the Democrats chose to walk away from the bipartisan DHS funding bill and have blocked repeated Republican efforts to pass a short-term funding patch to prevent disruptions while negotiations continue. The White House made a good-faith offer last month that builds on the reforms included in the bipartisan funding bill negotiated earlier this year, with new safeguards to protect both the American public and law enforcement and increased oversight. Democrats waited 18 days to respond. In that time, we saw violent attacks at Old Dominion University and the Temple Israel Synagogue in Michigan and a massive cyber attack on the Stryker Corporation. It is time for Democrats to get serious and work with us in earnest to govern responsibly.

We cannot tolerate a nuclear-armed Iran. The Iranian regime’s pursuit of nuclear capabilities, ballistic missile development, and support for terrorist proxies pose serious and longstanding threats to the national security of the United States and our allies. Iran has enormous stockpiles of missiles and one-way attack drones and the industrial capacity to continue to expand its arsenal. If the Iranian regime were allowed to continue developing ballistic missiles, it would soon be able to shield its nuclear facilities by threatening a grave and immediate response to any attack. Iran is also the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism. It has spent nearly half a century attacking Americans directly and through terrorist proxies, beginning with the 1979 seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran that resulted in 66 Americans being held hostage for 444 days and continuing with the numerous devastating attacks against American service members and civilians in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and more. In the October 7, 2023, massacre, Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists killed 1,200 people, including 46 Americans, in what was the deadliest single day for the Jewish community since the Holocaust. The list of the Iranian regime’s crimes against America and our allies goes on and on. The Constitution gives Congress an essential role in matters of war and peace. Sustained combat operations require full engagement with Congress. The Administration has adhered to the provisions of the War Powers Act that require notification to Congress within 48 hours of hostilities commencing, and it has provided numerous classified briefings to Congress. Passing this resolution now would send the wrong message to Iran and to our troops. At this juncture, providing unequivocal support to our service members is critically important, as is ongoing consultation by the Administration with Congress.

From 2021-2024, Democrats exercised total control over US immigration policy. They willfully create the largest and deadliest tsunami of illegal immigration, child sex trafficking, drug trafficking and gang infiltration in history. These are the Democrats now shutting down DHS.

If you work a “white collar” job never retire. I’m seeing it more and more: members of that cohort retire, and they turn into shadows of their former selves intellectually. One can only travel, garden, play golf etc only so much. Gainful employment is called that for a reason.
