She's not a Daughter of the Confederacy in any way, shape, or form. Why should she care? She's an outsider. Virginia is full of outsiders now.

🚨 NEW: Abigail Spanberger just signed a law ending the tax exemption status for the United Daughters of the Confederacy and other Confederate groups.

Warm Vanilla Sugar what are we even taking about

Millennial women were you cucumber melon or sweet pea

@jessibridges I’m not a fan of the official logo and branding for America 250. I wish it was more vintage like we had in 1976. I like your cross stitch pattern because it reminds me of those days. store.america250.org

@JayBird627 It didn't come with instructions. I think it's supposed to be cross stitch but I decided to use it as an opportunity to learn different embroidery stitches instead.
English

@jessibridges Jessi, i love that! Are they cross stitch? So cute!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
English

@ChantelSutberry Amazon! But it's sorta cheap so there's no instructions.
English

@JaneRayRose Ok, that makes sense. I've been learning different embroidery stitches as I go because it didn't come with instructions.
English

@LaurynReeds Just on Amazon, but as someone else pointed out, it's quite cheap. There may be better ones out there!
English

@WickingVicar Your's is definitely more beautiful! This one is very cheap, but I'm working with it. Learning different embroidery stitches as I go.
English

@jessibridges As an avid needleworker and patriot, I was drawn to that pattern as well. Upon closer inspection, I could tell it was AI generated, low quality, and not workable in real life. So I made my own chart in the same style, and got started this week!

English

@h3ll0again I decided to use embroidery stitches instead of cross stitching. So I'm learning different stitches as I go!
English

@jessibridges i usually see cross stitch as little x's but yours looks like cross stitch and embroidery had a baby
very interesting
excited to see how it turns out
English

@JaneRayRose I honestly have zero idea what the difference is 😆
English

@jessibridges Wait this is so fun!! Where did you get it??

@mrsdobbins_ If you haven't already, take a look at the Ambleside Online booklist. Begin with year 0 and go from there. I always read to everyone together so I don't pick based on gender tho there's great options if you want that! My boys have loved Little House and my girls loved Tom Sawyer.
English

@MZHemingway I remember in 1976. The parades. The costumes. I am very tempted to make a revolutionary era dress and wear it to work from flag day through all of July 😂
English

@jessibridges There were many Bonanza scripts revised and used in Little House
English

@jessibridges I always easily kept the show and the books in separate head spaces 😉
I ❤️ the books and Laura made me want to become a teacher.
ABC/Disney did a tv mini series based on the actual book in 2003 that was very good!
English

@EstherY_RN This describes my eldest daughter exactly. I think her first words were, "WHERE ARE PA'S WHISKERS?" She was probably 7.
English

@jessibridges SAME! Except it wasn't my kid, it was me. I loved the books and the first time I watched an episode of the show I was horrified at the deviation from the books.
English

@jessibridges A Little House Series that is true to the original, doesn't sugarcoat the challenges but also doesn't turn the series into depressing poverty p*rn, keeps zeitgeist concerns out of it - that is going to be a gold mine.
English

@KateKinard My daughter knows every song by heart. Sings them in the car all the time ❤️
English

@jessibridges The audio books are so good! Cherry Jones even sings the songs and Paul Woodiel’s fiddle playing is wonderful
