@jo28bro I swallowed your religion for a big part of my life. The issue of what authority allows us to refer to certain documents as “word of God” was the first one to wake me from my dogmatic slumbers. You have much lower standards for yourself. Comfort before challenge. Sad.

CONCLUSION: Christianity is a deeply abusive religion. It tells us we are ALL wicked and worthy of eternal suffering. AND it’s our fault! IN FACT Humans are overall beautiful, loving, compassionate, interesting, well-intentioned people who try hard. We are NOT “wretches.”

I have read the Bible. Cover to cover. That's how I know about the genocides, the slavery, the contradictions, and the failed prophecies. Studying it more won't make those problems disappear, it makes them more obvious. You're not defending the Bible. 2
