The best game was saved for last. Greenfield, which trailed for over 30 minutes of the NCISAA 2A state championship, took down defending champion Caldwell Academy thanks to Kobe Edwards' heroic effort over the final 65 seconds.

🚨PRESS CONFERENCE🚨 Greenfield Knights (NC) knocked off the Highland Hawks (VA) 57-54 in a @JohnWallHoliday final 4 overtime thriller. Senior guard Kobe Edwards led all scorers with 28 points but none bigger than a three pointer he had in overtime as the buzzer sounded. Edwards had the same chance at the end of regulation but just couldn’t get the shot to fall as the game went to overtime. Despite battling through adversity after missing two free-throws and a costly turnover late in the overtime period, Edwards was able to persevere through and knock down one of the biggest shots of his career and get his John Wall Holiday Invitational moment. Helping Kobe Edwards was the sophomore duo of Johnny Winborne and Braxton Dubose who scored 14 and 10 points respectively.

Greenfield defeated Wesleyan Christian tonight 79-54 to improve to 19-2 on the season. Complete team effort tonight. Braxten DuBose led the Knights with 21 pts, Johnny Winborne with 17, Kobe Edwards with 13 and 5 assists, and Cameron Moore with 11 points 7 assists.
