🌏We are delighted to announce the launch of the National #Stroke Action Plan for India, a strategic framework outlining stroke care initiatives through 2030. This significant plan was unveiled by esteemed officials, including Ms. Punya Salila Srivastava, Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; Dr. Balbir Singh, Honorable Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Punjab; and Dr. Anil Sukhdevrao Bonde, Honorable Member of Parliament and Chairperson of the Indian Medical Parliamentarians Forum. The event was a collaborative effort by Medtronic, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the World Stroke Organization, and the Indian Medical Parliamentarians Forum (IMPF). 🌐The plan aims to bridge gaps in India's stroke care systems by focusing on prevention, timely intervention, rehabilitation, and long-term care. It emphasizes public awareness campaigns to educate citizens about stroke symptoms and the importance of immediate medical attention. The active participation of health secretaries from seven states, along with key figures such as Dr. Harsh Mahajan, Chair of the FICCI Health Services Committee; Mandeep Singh Kumar, Managing Director & Vice President of Medtronic India; and Signe Haughton, Chief of Staff and Senior Director of Medical & Government Affairs for Medtronic Neurovascular, underscores a unified commitment to enhancing stroke care across India. @jeyaraj_pandian

Introducing Dr Jeyaraj D Pandian the new President of World Stroke is the Professor of Neurology and Principal (Dean) at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India. He has been serving WSO since 2008 at different capacities and is the Past President of Indian Stroke Association. Prof Pandian has made significant contributions in stroke epidemiology, systems of care, acute treatment, prevention and rehabilitation in low and middle income countries. He is a member of @WHO NCD STAG and works closely with WHO Southeast Asia Regional Office.
