Our dear friend @SaveWildBees died on Sunday. She was a wonderful human being, a brilliant researcher, passionate about grassroots justice work. Among many of the gifts she and Marc gave us, was introducing us to Puerto Rico (the board game) and good espresso. She was 43.

For praying folk, my wife was brought to the hospital last night and is now in the ICU.

There was a time, years ago, when I thought Elon Musk was super cool. Like a real life Tony Stark. Lex Luthor seems a more appropriate comparison now.

The loss of hope does not always look like despair. Sometimes it looks like control. We know we have stopped hoping in God when we take matters into our own hands.

"Presence not withheld" is what God's love feels like. "Presence not withheld" is also what we can offer ourselves, and especially to our pain. There is endless grace & care for the ways we numb out / dissociate in order to survive. But healing and growth is about presence.

@PastorTrey05 Well, that'd be the moment he announced he was running for office, I guess. We were sitting at a gate lounge in La Guardia airport on our way home to Toronto, so it was mostly Canadians, all laughing together at the ridiculousness of your nation. I'm so sorry.

I literally cannot think of a single point in time where I regarded Donald Trump as fit for office.
