@jonkappes1985 @ChadBrendel You're the one accusing UC of knowing he was gambling. You haven't shown any evidence of that yet. I'd like an intelligent answer, but I guess that's too much to ask for.

Or maybe, and stay with me now, it's because he was addicted to gambling and knew he was breaking every rule in the book so he kept it hidden from an entity that A) had no hard evidence he was breaking the rules and B) no subpoena power to investigate any further. But you clowns are so desperate to absolve yourself from wrongdoing you refuse to see the reality right in front of your face.

@ChadBrendel they knew about it Chad, they just didn’t look into it hard enough. maybe its because they knew they had a better chance of winning with him on the team. you might want to sit this one out

@T__Baloney @superjmstone @ChadBrendel Kid plays for your school for two years, bets obscene amounts of money the whole time, gets flagged by your monitoring software, but you guys have it all figured out?

@T__Baloney @superjmstone @ChadBrendel Did they verify that with the betting site or only within what their monitoring software generated. Think Tony! They could have sought more evidence if they wanted it

@jonkappes1985 @superjmstone @ChadBrendel They were alerted he was trying to access the site. Not that he tried to place a bet. He was blocked from accessing the site. There was nothing to review because he wasn't allowed to even access the site.

@jonkappes1985 @ChadBrendel The same nothing response? I'd expect nothing less from a Texas Tech fan. You can't give a good answer, so you keep giving the same dumbass answer. Typical.

@T__Baloney @superjmstone @ChadBrendel He did something to trigger the alert. Websites create logs of everything. There would be a log of the him attempting to login and then getting blocked. Did the review the log for the site to confirm he wasn’t able to place a bet? According to media reports no.

@ChadBrendel Nice try Chad, but when you start offering more details than any other media source, as the owner of bearcatjournal.com. People can smell the bullshit. You win the Pravda award for journalistic integrity today!

Try reading slow, Jon. There were no activities on the site that got flagged. It got him as he signed up, blocked his attempt and booted him from the site. He never had a chance to place a bet. Do you get it now?
Jon Kappes@jonkappes1985

@superjmstone @T__Baloney @ChadBrendel Wow dude! How about anything that even attempted to corroborate the kids story, or better yet how about reviewing his activities on the site that got triggered? Same thing you’d do if one of your kids got reported for something and you wanted to make sure they were ok

@ShonenVentures @ColonelRebel87 @bretthbayne While technically true, not playing him for reasons other than provable performance issues would open Tech up to the same sanctions the injunction creates for the NCAA. You need to realize this injunction is new to CFB, and there is no clear and easy way out for anyone involved

@jonkappes1985 @ColonelRebel87 @bretthbayne No court ruling determines the depth chart at a university, you know that. Could Joey McGuire decide that Will Hammond wins the job in Fall camp and earned the right to start as QB1 despite the NIL investment in Sorsby? The answer is of course, Yes.

@ColonelRebel87 @ShonenVentures @bretthbayne Won’t matter. If it falls apart because of antitrust activities, the damages Tech will recover will turn all future college football seasons into the annual TTU invitational tournament.

@jonkappes1985 @ChadBrendel I'd love to see it. You posted a screenshot of a headline of an article and a screenshot of something repeating exactly what I said. Just show me something contradicting what I said.

@T__Baloney @superjmstone @ChadBrendel Anything more than we asked the suspect and he said there was nothing to worry about would have better. I guess those Cincinnati degrees aren’t worth much if you cannot grasp this concept

@T__Baloney @ChadBrendel Moron, I never said what you said was wrong. You’re omitting other details cited by the various news articles I’ve referenced for you. NY post, USA Today and SI. Fire up google and stop burying your head in the sand.

@ShonenVentures @ColonelRebel87 @bretthbayne The Texas AG and Sorsby’s very successful lawyer have both publicly stated the opposite. This injunction is unlike anything we’ve seen in college sports to date. You need to stop pretending there is an easy solution, and really need to stop the mob rule tactics against Tech

@jonkappes1985 @ColonelRebel87 @bretthbayne B.S. Jon The injunction does not require Tech to start Sorsby. It merely prevented the NCAA from enforcing its ruling on Sorby's eligibility. The Big12 is within its rights to enforce its own bylaws with respect to 1.3.2 Adherence to NCAA Rules & 3.6 Sanction of a Member.

@TheDrummerDad If Tech wins an antitrust case large enough, they won’t need a conference. P5 schools would play them for a check just like AA schools do today

@ColonelRebel87 @bretthbayne Nope, they joined a business partnership and expected fair and equitable treatment. The collusion of the other members in retaliation for complying with a standing court order, constitutes antitrust behavior and no one can contract away their right to protection from such actions

@jonkappes1985 @bretthbayne They joined an association, the Big 12, and agreed to abide by their rules. Now they are threatening to sue if those rules are enforced.
