In a 7-year study of 4,344 older adults, arts engagement, both participatory (e.g., painting, music-making) and receptive (e.g., attending concerts), showed cognitive benefits. Engaging up to 1 hour/week had effects comparable to an hour of exercise. tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
