@miyaseparade True, I guess the issue is often in the end, unless you're in Japan and can see a band live, it's hard to make out how popular they actually are. So some rely on Spotify numbers, but yes, they are not the most reliable.

@jrockonecom I don’t use the desktop version, so I’m not sure 🤔 but I have definitely the feeling that the ppl are focusing way to much on numbers online, not on the local scene.

You all do realize that the Spotify listeners you see for a Japanese artist are mostly from overseas, right? It’s based on region and has nothing to do with how many listeners a band has in general or in Japan. So please stop overdramatizing it all the time.
