Kolesnik: I would like to dedicate this medal to my parents - they always believed in me. My dad is here and I haven't seen him in 5 years, and there was a lot of time we've missed. I just want the war to stop and peace to come - hopefully sometime soon. I know my voice won't change much, but I will continue to ask for peace #WorldFigure

You know there was a point when ilia was flopping that I thought he was still going to win gold. it wasn’t till like the 3rd fall I realized he wasn’t going to win and the 5th mistake I realized he wasn’t going to even podium 😭

@shaidivadance i wasn’t even having coherent thoughts for most of it. i saw ilia’s technical score and realized it was mathematically impossible for him to win and that knowledge basically made my brain factory reset bc it did not sink in for a While

@quadsalchuwu genuine accidents do happen, i got bumped into by someone i know while practicing and it was just because we aren’t on the same sessions often and we both miscalculated. but i think situations like that are not the majority of collisions

and I watched a skater’s blade slam into a careless kid’s eye while they were floating around in the Lutz corner. Right of way rules are in-place FOR A REASON. if a coach isn’t enforcing this w/ their skaters, they’re a bad coach! “accidents happen” & can cause permanent injury.
