One way to hook users: make them imagine what they could do with your product. Imagination triggers dopamine. Low effort, instant reward. The easier your product is to fantasize about, the more likely they are to buy.

I created my own tmux statusbar to start the new year. There are lots of tmux statusbar plugins, but I don't like them. So I created the simplest statusbar that only shows the session name and window number/name. It uses theme variables so I can apply my favorite themes.

Realized how important it is to have readiness time in the morning before diving into the day. Instead of rushing out of bed and diving straight into work, I take proper morning readiness time. Stretching, sunlight, relaxed shower, light breakfast. Feel so much more refreshed.

Someone says AI just creates a bunch of low-quality stuff. But quality isn't about using AI or not—it's about who's behind it. For people who actually care about quality, AI boosts their work from good to great, even faster.

Quality first. People should have a life outside of work. Place to enjoy life, develop their tastes, gather inspiration. When you feel better, your work is better. It naturally bleeds into what you make. fastcompany.com/91445544/the-1…

Loved seeing a real‑world case of the Shape Up process in this video by @rjs. Start with spiky, intense live sessions for framing/shaping, then let the team run async youtu.be/Holk0GsGYfY?si…

Trying Dia these days and enjoying it! Feels much faster and simpler. I already switched to Dia completely for work and also looking forward to the spaces feature so that I can replace Arc with Dia completely for my personal use in the near future.

@UsBenq Sure, i'd be happy for you to use it. I also really love the auto-dimming feature! I used to turn my desk lamp on and off manually all the time, but now I don't have to touch it at all. I just sit down and get to work. That's all.

I bought BenQ Screenbar Halo2 recently, and I'm enjoying it. I especially like the backlighting feature and the motion-sensor auto on/off. It makes coding in the evening more fun again.

@Saadeghi Yeah, Ruby on Rails’s autoloading does this kind of thing and it is quite useful. It would be nice if JS frameworks provide similar things…

I never understood why we have to import functions from the framework to the framework when the framework is going to compile the code anyway.

One of the bigger ironies of AI is that despite being one of the largest technological leaps forward, it seems like it's encouraging more in-person interactions than ever before: in-person interviews, warm intros, in-office work, etc. Digital can no longer be trusted.

I just moved the startup office in Korea 🇰🇷 for a month. It's where my indie hacking journey started in 2018 with ₩3,000 돈까스 meals and a $400/month rent. Time to cook.

I use a good monitor that provides enough size and resolution(27-inch, 4K) so there's no problem with opening two or three windows on one screen at once. I also use window management tools like Magnet, Raycast, and Hammerspoon to be more productive with a single monitor.

I don't need to turn my head repeatedly if I use only one monitor. I can just focus on what's directly in front of my eyes, which makes me less distracted and allows me to focus on one task at a time. Sometimes, I need to open multiple windows together.

I prefer a single-monitor setup to a dual-monitor setup. I've been using only one monitor for my work environment for more than two years.
