@realNickWake The government also simply cannot allocate resources appropriately, no central authority can gather and work through all the data necessary to do so A decentralised market can adapt to needs much faster because people have the freedom to satisfy their changing needs

Poverty is the default condition in life. If you do nothing, you will be at the bottom tier economically. That's how it's been throughout human history. The fact that we work toward a better outcome with even our poorest living better than the average Roman did at the height of the Empire says something. Also, a lot of the reason for inflation is because of reckless government spending and printing money to pay for it. You want to go back to one family member working households? Then we need to get government spending under control and let economic growth catch up.

@Naivedo Alright: over the years we have implemented more socialist policies and programs that have eroded the economy In other words the more we do what you want the worse things get

@kakeslott 30 years ago only one parent needed to work and could afford a home, now both parents work and can only afford to rent, explain that capitalist bootlicker. It's not the poor or immigrants buying up all the houses and under paying employees.

@_Credible_Hulk In places like Denmark they even have high tax rates for welfare I pay 39% tax on my student welfare, so they say they're gonna give me X amount, and then only put in 61% of it to my bank account, for some fucking reason

They’ll say your healthcare will be free and then tax half your income to pay for it. But at least it will be free (at point of service)
The Dirtbag Left@LeftThe52833

@CryptoTyranus There's a .0001% chance someone poor sets your house on fire, but theres a 100% chance you will pay $5/gallon for gas tomorrow and 100% chance your next medical visit won't be free.

@kunoichi_jp_ When you knock or ring someone's door and they open it, to be polite you say "undskyld" meaning "sorry" for disturbing them, then when they let you in you can say it again or thank them But if you know the person you dont say anything because of hospitality

In Japan, entering someone’s home begins with an apology. To my friends learning Japanese, There is a Japanese phrase that sounds rude in English, but polite in Japan. Ojama shimasu. The literal meaning is close to: “I am about to disturb you.” That is not wrong. But the real meaning is softer than that. You say it when entering someone’s home. Ojama shimasu. You say it when stepping into someone’s room. Ojama shimasu. You say it when visiting someone’s office. Ojama shimasu. You say it when crossing into a space that belongs to someone else. Ojama shimasu. It is not really an apology. It is not really a warning. It is a small way of saying: I know this space is yours. I know I am entering it. I will do so gently. Most languages have words for entering a room. Japan has a phrase for entering someone else’s space with humility. What do you say before entering someone’s home in your country?

The Electoral College A Senate elected by State Legislators A House of Representatives A Presidential Veto The Founding Fathers despised the whims of the mob, the idea that our Liberty as a Free People would be at the mercy of the lowest common denominator was held with absolute contempt, that is why they so utterly rejected Democracy in favor of The Republic.
The Nation@thenation

If there’s one thing Alexander Hamilton despised, it was democracy in America---“our real disease,” as he once called it. His entire career was dedicated to suppressing the democratic impulses unleashed by the Revolution and to establishing a national oligarchy. bit.ly/43DcO5G

@RawrOfTheEmo Japanese is not 1:1 to English so accurate translations aren't always possible and so some degree of interpretation and creativity is needed to make the final result fit the culture of the new target audience If you dont like it, learn Japanese yourself

It's pissing me off even more because they are saying that it's a proper translation of their Japanese accent. When like how coinkidinky that other characters with accents in several other translation are just English. But ohhhh this one is different, fuck off

@kingterrortank @kafceth Socialism always leads to a tiny incredibly wealthy elite class Now thats not what they want to happen, not according to their ideology, but its what happens Communism does the same just with more death squads This is historically, logically and embirecially true

Morality discourse has collapsed. The Galactic Empire from Star Wars wasn't immoral, but they were evil. The Sith weren't immoral, they were evil. They both had a defined morality. It was just an evil morality. Neither held just being evil as being moral. They were about power and control. For the Sith, anything that increased your power is good. That's why they aren't serial killers. If they kill wantonly, it's to gain power from the fear. For the Empire, anything that increased control was good. That's why they didn't have a debauched hedonistic aristocracy. They demanded control over everything, included the self. They certainly didn't use vice and addiction to control their troops. Being able to be controlled like that would mean they could be compromised the same way.
Shameimaru Aya@ArisakaAya

The whole discourse over this character (young female imperial officer) being problematic is really funny to me "She uses her youth and sex appeal to get what she wants" yeah that's the point and it shows how totally immoral she is and how corrupt the Empire is, she's a villain!
