'Dikshitar is the only composer from the South who had spent five years of his life in Banaras, the spiritual capital of India' - "Anubhuti - Experiencing Dikshitar'. With Deepavali being the punya tithi of Dikshitar, #deepavali2025 is the perfect time to reflect on his legacy. newindiaabroad.com/english/opinio… @GarudaPrakashan @sankrant #Diwali2025 #Diwali #Deepavali2025 #Deepavali #banaras

Amazing book. Strongly recommended.

Muttusvāmi Dīkṣitar, an initiate of the Śrīvidyā tradition, was also deeply versed in Yoga, Vedānta, Jyotiṣa Śāstra, and Āyurveda and other śāstras. His vast learning, combined with a mastery of Saṅgīta Śāstra, made his compositions profound reflections of both divine experience and civilisational depth. Dīkṣitar’s ouvre stands as a microcosm of the Indic epistemic framework, wherein his compositions reflect one seamless vision of consciousness - a synthesis of śāstra, sādhana and bhakti. His legacy reminds us that knowledge in Bhārata was never fragmented but profoundly interconnected. This clip is part of a lecture series by musician and author @kanniks, who has authored a book detailing Dīkṣitar’s legacy, titled ‘Anubhuti - Experiencing Muthusvami Dikshitar’.
