All Island Canteen and Restaurant Owners’ Association announced that the price of a plain tea will increase by Rs. 5, milk tea by Rs. 10, and “short eats” by Rs. 10.
Prices of meals such as rice and kottu will rise by Rs. 25.
Sri Lanka’s food prices are set to rise from midnight on March 11 after an increase in domestic cooking gas prices, restaurant owners said.
The association said the increases were necessary to offset higher operating costs following the latest hike in cooking gas prices
