The irony that the government are now considering detention centres for deportees. The Irish have been consistently been labelled as "far right" for demanding that the State apply strict immigration policies, including detention centres. Over two years ago 2024 Minister Helen McEntee was asked at an Oireachtas Committee why Ireland did not follow Denmark's model. She responded that "It is a fact that they detain people....I don't think the vast majority of people would like us to go down that route". The Irish people were never asked. The government refused to hold a Referendum on immigration as they knew the vast majority of Irish people were against their policies, but did not speak out for fear of vilification and labelling. The tide has changed and now the government are scrambling. Too little, too late.

Shame on RTE for not reporting the fact that homelessness adults increased by 58 in the month of February 2026, comprising Irish (minus one), EU/UK (minus 18) and non-EU/UK (PLUS 77). Our Media is petrified of audiences seeing the increase in non-EEA homelessness.

Our Main Media will not be reporting that Irish are now a minority of those in emergency accommodation, at 49.8% Non-EEA (outside EU) now make up 31%, that's up from 15% in April 2022 when the Govt first started giving us splits. Non-Irish (EU/UK) represent 19%
